One of Leander ISD’s Core Beliefs is that our Life Changers (each and every staff member) should be empowered to inspire students to take ownership of their learning.
For the last 3 years, 75% of our staff have strongly agreed/agreed that they have access to professional learning opportunities to become even more effective in their roles. Many of these initiatives have been established in the past 4 years, and the positive impact on our educators is clear.
Some of the programs we offer include:
Aspiring Administrator Academy
Prospective Principal Program
Aspiring School Counselor Program
Aspiring Leader Program
Aspiring Coordinator/Director Cohort
LISD Leadership Academy
We also support our new teachers through an induction program, with mentoring and coaching for first- and second-year teachers. And, to ensure our new principals have a strong start, we pair them with a mentor during their first year on a new campus.
At the recent PTA Council Forum, it was implied that we need to offer a mentorship program. In Leander ISD, we already have a robust set of learning opportunities available for all of our educators—during the week, when it's most effective. Unlike my opponent, I believe in providing support without asking our teachers to come in on a Saturday to further their careers.
While we’ve made great strides, there’s always room to grow and improve. Our educators deserve our best support, and that’s why I want to continue serving as your Trustee for Place 4, so we can keep making progress and offering even better opportunities for ALL educators in LISD.
I am asking for your support to re-elect me to the LISD Board of Trustee for Place 4!
